An exclusive portal for discussing supply/demand/price of ICP

I’m launching a new opportunity for IC investors, business owners and enthusiasts to better understand the dynamics of the ICP token and the Internet Computer ecosystem. The product is a gating NFT that provides access into a DSCVR portal focused solely on discussion of the supply/demand/price action for the Internet Computer. The benefits of having access to the DSCVR portal will be (at a minimum):

• Access to a monthly supply/demand report from me, including the much-discussed price model based on future supply/demand dynamics.

• Routine data analytics from me regarding the growth of the IC ecosystem, including growth metrics of various ecosystem domains.

• Ability to ask questions regarding data analytics and reports.

• Access to an exclusive community of people heavily invested in the Internet Computer.

The NFT token will provide access to the portal for 6 months (July through December 2022) and will be sold via CrowdFundNFT at a mint price of 39 ICP. This will be an exclusive community, as only 150 NFTs will be minted.

This community should appeal to anyone heavily invested in the ICP token as it should provide key microeconomic and fundamental information for making investment decisions. It should appeal to builders, owners and investors in the Internet Computer ecosystem as well because it will provide analyses on the ecosystem growth that will help shape business decisions.

What value will this NFT get me?

The majority of the high-value content I generate will move to this DSCVR portal, so you can expect a ton of analytics from me regarding the supply and demand dynamics of the ICP token, pricing models around ICP and, in addition, routine analytics to measure the strength and breadth of the IC ecosystem growth. Think of the portal as similar to this Substack, but on steroids and with the ability for two-way communication. I plan to release a monthly supply/demand/price report. I’ll also be available for discussions on better understanding the various analyses as well as my own commentary on what conclusions to draw from the data. Anyone who is heavily invested in the Internet Computer, whether through investing in the ICP token or through business/dApps running on the IC, will see value in this content.

When will this launch?

The CrowdFundNFT launch will start on 10MAY. Per the CrowdFundNFT rules, it will remain open for 30 days or until the NFTs sell out. See below for what happens if the CrowdFundNFT sells out early.

Why use CrowdFundNFT and DSCVR to deliver this product? Why not Substack?

It’s important to me that this product (and any/all future products from me) be fully on the Internet Computer. One day this Substack will move to an IC platform as well (hi Nuance!).

Why 39 ICP?

I estimate there are 905 entities (NNS stakers, business owners, ecosystem investors, traders, etc.) that will buy or sell at least 4000 ICP over the next 6 months (many of whom subscribe to this substack). I believe heavy data analysis will help these entities make better buy and sell decisions and that a <1% cost for that analysis will be a no-brainer investment.

If 6.5 ICP/month seems rather high, this is probably not the community you are looking for.

Why 150 NFTs?

This is based on Dunbar’s number (150) for an active community of known participants. Future seasons of ICP Analytics NFTs could have more or less members, based on the community’s preference.

Why 6 months of access?

This is my not-so-subtle signaling that I will be selling access NFTs every 6 months. It’s also my signaling that the content I provide in the portal, and the overall value of the portal, will be significantly high to justify people buying access again.

How many NFTs will be available for public purchase?

150 NFTs will be available through the CrowdFundNFT sale. Of the 150, 6 NFTs will be reserved for strategic partnerships and to reward partners who helped get this project off the ground.

Can I resell my ICP Analysis NFT?

Of course! NFTs will be listed on Entrepot’s marketplace. Remember, the value of the NFT should drift lower as we progress through the 6 months of access. I’m also looking into ways to ensure the NFTs retain long term value beyond the 6 month season, including long term partnership opportunities and additional content access for 2023 and beyond.

What will you do with the NFT mint sale proceeds?

All proceeds, minus expenses and applicable taxes, will be 8-year staked (of course!) in my personal neuron, so you can count on the ICP proceeds to be taken out of the circulating supply. Proof of staking will be provided.

What happens if the project sells out early?

CrowdFundNFT projects are open for a maximum of 30 days. If the project sells out prior to the 30 days then NFTs will be delivered early and I’ll open the DSCVR portal early. The first season of ICP Analytics NFTs will start early and last longer than 6 months… a small bonus for the early adopters.

What about NFT artwork?

If you’re interested in artwork, I’d suggest another project. This project is about access to an exclusive portal aimed at helping ICP investors make more informed decisions around the price of ICP and ecosystem investors make more informed decisions around the progress of the ecosystem.

What will be the price of the Season 2 (1H2023) NFT in 6 months? What about quantity?

For quantity, I’d like for the community to decide whether to increase or decrease the membership size. The first season will have 150 members, however it’s possible that future seasons will have more or less members based on the community’s preference.

For price, that will be determined by supply/demand dynamics (of course!) and by the price of ICP at the time of the Season 2 mint.

What will happen with ICP Analysis Substack?

I’ll continue to write for this substack, however it’ll obviously be less supply/demand/price focused, or the material may not be as fresh. However, my hope is the ICP Analysis DSCVR portal provides new ways of thinking and ideas that helps me generate new content for the Substack.

As mentioned above, I plan to move the Substack to an IC-native app in the future.
